Savannah/Charleston Trip

Scott is in Savannah, GA for work for a couple weeks and Renee was able to join him this past weekend to hang out and see the sights. Saturday we drove up to Charleston, SC, which neither of us had ever seen. We walked around a little downtown and then drove out to James Island, Folly Beach. It seemed to be a really pretty city.
Marion Square, near downtown.
The pier at Folly Beach. (Very few people were fishing and those that were weren't catching anything.)
Saturday night we ate down in the river district, where all of the cargo ships come in and go out. We got to see a couple in our time there, which was really cool...they are unbelievably big!
The size doesn't really come across...
At a candy store they were making a batch of peppermint taffy using an old-fashioned machine. Really cool, and tasty too!
Sunday we spent the day on the beach at Tybee Island, where the waves were pretty big as Hurricane Danielle passed by out in the Atlantic. We couldn't really hang out and swim because the waves were so strong, but we walked up and down almost the whole length of the beach. Apparently they've also had a record number of jelly fish stings this year but we didn't see any.
Although not a good day for swimming, it was a a great day for wind surfing!
A seagull staring us down.
This was a pretty sunset Friday night at Tybee, a thunderstorm dissipating.

Great trip, it went way too fast!

Thanks for sharing your pictures. I love that you guys get to travel so much. It's just too bad that you have to spend so much time apart!
Love you guys!
