We're Moving to San Antonio!!

Mrs. Taylor sold the new jet that Scott took delivery on a couple weeks ago to Valero, an oil refinery company in San Antonio, TX. In the two weeks Scott was in Savannah, he got to know the people at Valero and they offered him a job, which we accepted. Mrs. Taylor is in the process of eliminating the aviation department: the helicopters are sold and the remaining two aircraft are on the market. We had planned to ride it out as long as it lasted as we have had a great time down here and didn't want it to end, but the opportunity with Valero is something we couldn't pass up. Renee is currently trying to transfer with Progressive to the San Antonio office. Even though the adventure down here lasted only a little over a year, we have absolutely no regrets and would do it all over again in an instant. We have met some great people and have had some amazing experiences that we wouldn't trade for anything. And San Antonio will just be a continuation of this adventure.
The front desk at the Valero hanger. Scott took all of these pictures on his phone so they aren't that great, but you get the idea...

Bridget's Back in Action

The pills cured Bridget's infection, and once she was off of them for a couple of days she started eating normally. She's been fine for about a week now, and is running around the house again.

Saltwater In-Shore Fishing in Savannah

Scott went on an in-shore fishing trip with a few people from Gulfstream last Sunday.
Taking off bright and early Sunday morning.
Leaving the marina behind.
Heading out to sea.
Scott and a speckled trout. Spanish mackeral (look at the teeth!).
Ladyfish.
All of the fish, minus the sharks (which we threw back).

Gulfstream 450

Scott just returned from Savannah, GA where he accepted delivery of the Gulfstream 450, serial number 4116. He was there for the past week and a half performing acceptance inspections. These pictures are from the customer acceptance flight that took place last Tuesday. They flew from Savannah to Stennis, MS, to Knoxville, TN, back to Savannah.

Scott testing the audio panels at each seat. The tail-mounted camera view from the main cabin screen on approach to Stennis.
The belly-mounted camera view (note the nose landing gear).
In the pattern at Stennis.
View of Stennis, the GIV is the big plane in the middle.
Wendy took a couple pictures as they flew by Stennis. Cockpit view-the crew has access to all external cameras. This is the first G450 with synthetic vision certified. Synthetic vision is a highly detailed computerized map of all terrain and allows the crew to view the topography of the land. This view is of the Appalachian mountains as they were flying low over Tennessee.

Big Jamo in the Big Easy

Jamie was in New Orleans for work Monday through Thursday of last week. Although she was busy the rest of week, we did get to have dinner together Monday night. I forgot my camera, but Jamie just emailed me this picture we took by her hotel in the French Quarter with her camera. It was great to see her again, but the time was too short, too short!!!!

Alligator!!

Tonight I was walking Bridget and I happened to spot an alligator! In the wild! Apparently since they opened the spillway a few weeks ago a few have turned up where they aren't supposed to. The Preservation Department or something like that is supposed to remove them, they removed the other two that were here a couple weeks ago but I don't know if anybody has called about this little guy yet. He's hard to see, you might have to make the pictures bigger.
This is just an establishing shot, looking north to the corner where people fish.
He's right off the very tip of the grass in the middle.
Bridget update: She seems okay, but she kind of quit eating. She hasn't eaten much of anything in 48 hours except a couple handfuls of dog food she ate out of my hand last night. Other than that, she just gets the turkey I wrap around her pills. I called the vet and he said to boil chicken and rice and give it to her, but I really feel the issue is not that her stomach hurts or anything, but rather that she's just being picky and refusing to eat out of her bowl for some reason, and I'm not catering to that behavior. She still hangs around when I make my lunch waiting for something to fall and still eats dead roadkill off the ground if she gets half a chance so I think she's probably fine. Her two-day-old food will still be there when she gets hungry enough. Scott is taking her in to the vet next week for her vaccinations so if things don't improve by then, we'll address it. But really I think maybe she's getting full on turkey and just isn't hungry.

Bridget's Sick

Bridget went to the vet yesterday to get all of her vaccines, Frontline, and heartworm pills. Instead, she got blood tests, a rectal exam (the vet said Yorkies deal with it better than she did, but she's always been a weiner), antibiotics, and special food. She has an infection in her abdomen that has been causing her to throw up and makes it difficult for her to go to the bathroom. She's still been going for walks and playing and it's hard to tell anything's wrong. The only reason she's tired in these pictures is because we just got back from a walk and it's so hot outside. You can tell her tail's wagging in all of them :-)
