This is a picture taken just outside our Slidell apartment two weeks after we moved in, in August 2007. We had been trying to catch crabs in the cast net almost every night as we walked with Bridget, but hadn't had any luck. There were plenty hanging out on the bottom of the inlet, and we had managed to aim correctly and get the net over a few of them but they always skeetered out as we tried to drag them in. This was the first one we were able to catch. And he was none too happy about it.

Why are crabs always so - well - crabby?
Because people take them from their comfortable, sandy homes, catch them with cast nets, and shove cameras in their faces!
I suppose that would make me crabby too!
