4/20 Flight

Scott is almost done with ground school and is going to start flying with an instructor to get his instrument rating. He would like to finish it in a month, so hopefully by the end of May he'll have his rating. It all depends on getting enough time with the instructor and working with both of their schedules. In the meantime, he's still logging cross country hours when he has time so this weekend we went to Columbia, MS, which is about 90 miles away from Lakefront. We know all these flight pictures look the same, but it's all we got. And it's more interesting than showing Scott sitting at his desk doing ground school...
Taking off north from Lakefront.
Looking back toward Lakefront.
Flying over the lake. The Causeway. It's a really thin line in the picture and hard to see...
Flying north to Columbia, MS.
FEMA trailer storage.
Approaching the runway at Columbia.
Landing at Columbia.
Coming back across the lake to Lakefront.
Downtown in the distance.
Landing toward the lake.

Eric and I were bemoaning the loss of our friendly, local pilot the other day. Ahh, the good old days!
